loading bar stays on screen

20 May 2009, 21:51

On some occasions, the "loading bar" sticks on the screen. Even when selecting other pages, the loading bar stays there until a hard refresh (CTRL-F5).

Anyone has an idea about how to fix this ?

I tried your gallery, and it looks very nice .... I didn't experience any preloader sticking. Perhaps someone else is experiencing this?

The issue is not consistent - it happened to me twice while integrating content and once - when the client actually saw it for the first time

If you do have any insight- let me know.

btw - on Google Chrome , refreshing the page will a lot of time end up with everything not showing until you rescale the window. I am not expecting X2 to be compatible with 100% of browsers (especially the very new and still unpopular one) - i'm just pointing it out since i'm a heavy Chrome user.

In any case, X2 is a massive upgrade from V1 - and very affordable.

Thanks Karl.

I'll certainly keep an eye on it! Its not acceptable that chrome handles it that way of course ...

I am having the same issue. Sometimes it seems like the pictures get stuck when I click on the thumbnails. My gallery is www.ramahvaughn.com/wedding
SOmetimes the whole slideshow just locks up and it doesnt respond to anything except a refresh (F5). I am experiencing the problem on several computers.

I, too, should report having experienced this issue 3 or 4 times (loading bar sticks on the screen). I can't remember the exact details, but next time it happens I will try to document it better and report again.
Windows XP home SP3 / Firefox 3.5.1

This is my first post on this forum as I am new to Imagvuex. I have tried other online galleries but this one appears to be perfect for my goals. I look forward to developing my site with X2 and will follow its future through this forum ... thanks.

I am curious if this might be related to the SWFaddress module. Please feel free to disable this module from the admin -> settings panel, and have a run with the gallery.

Preloader keeps sticking

23 Mar 2010, 15:48

I recently started out using X2 for my site http://www.rvd-fotografie.nl
and have got to deal with the sticking preloader bar a lot.

It usually occurs the first time starting a new browser window. Refreshing the window (F5) does fix it most of the time, not always.

I've tried the possible solution by disabling the SWFaddress module option, with no result.

Tested it out on a few computers and the following browsers:

Internet explorer 8
Google Chrome 4.1.249.1036
PS3 Internet explorer

It kept on recurring

Could someone help me out?

It seems strange, but i have had absolutely NO problems with ImageVueX.. I use Windows 7, Chrome 4.1.249, Opera 10, and IE 8 and everything works like a Swiss watch, and because my 2 galleries are a diary, I add much content almost daily, lately, the images are fairly large and take some time to load, but nothing untoward happens, and all parts of the software work very smoothly together... when I read about problems in the forum, I can never produce them myself, so I hope you can all "iron" them out ???

This is something we certainly will be attempting to trace with next major release

I'm looking forward to that moment.

Just for the record:
I've just done a completely new installation of my OS

- re-installed Windows XP + SP3
- IE8
- Adobe Flashplayer 10 ActiveX

Tried to visit the galery http://www.rvd-fotografie.nl after that.
Loading bar still sticks on the screen unfortunately.
